Tribunal award: right to be accompanied (weeks' pay)

The most a tribunal can award, in weeks' pay, when an employer denies a worker their companion at a disciplinary or grievance hearing.

2weeks' pay
Primary source only Act of Parliament Great Britain in force since 2026-04-06

Checked against its sources: statute verified 2026-09-21

Scope: A ceiling, not an entitlement: the tribunal awards up to two weeks' pay. The week's-pay cap (Maximum week's pay (redundancy and unfair dismissal)) limits the cash. GOV.UK's page on being accompanied names no compensation figure, so the record has no guidance source and is single_source_A by design.

Compiler's notes

A count, located by an authored LOCATORS phrase read from s.11(3); no textual amendment touches the subsection. effective_from is DATED DEBT (D-RD-4), and the debt is now SHARPER than it was: this row used to say s.11 was commenced on 4 September 2000 by the Employment Relations Act 1999 (Commencement No. 6 and Transitional Provisions) Order 2000 (S.I. 2000/1338), and that Order has since been archived and read — its article 2 brings sections 1, 5, 6 and 25 and Schedule 1 into force on 6 June 2000, and names no other provision. So S.I. 2000/1338 does not commence s.11, the archived s.11 page carries no I-note, and NO document in the store names the order that did. The record therefore keeps the tested-year date rather than assert one it has not read; the Act's whole-Act view is seeded for its commencement apparatus. Verdict-safe at any date: no textual amendment touches s.11(3), so the probe returns ACT-HOLDS whichever date the debt is settled at.
